UK to EU and US Travel Plug Adaptor with 2 USB Ports
Two Destinations, Same Solution
Packing for a trip to Europe or America and forgetting a travel adaptor is one of those avoidable problems that still catches people out regularly. These two adaptors cover both destinations. The EU version takes your UK three-pin plug and converts it for use across European countries — France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Norway and others that use the two-round-pin socket standard. The US version does the same for American, Canadian and Mexican sockets where the flat two-pin format is used.
Both adaptors include two USB ports on the front face so your phone, tablet and other USB-charged devices can charge directly from the wall without using the mains socket output or carrying a separate USB charger in your bag.
What Each Adaptor Does
EU Travel Adaptor — UK to Europe
UK three-pin plug on the rear fits directly into a standard UK wall socket before you leave, or into a UK extension lead
European two-round-pin output on the front accepts plugs used across most of continental Europe
Two USB-A ports at 1A for charging phones, earbuds, smart watches and other USB devices simultaneously
240V rated — compatible with standard European mains voltage
Covers the majority of European holiday and business travel destinations including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Hungary, Turkey and Poland
US Travel Adaptor — UK to America
UK three-pin plug on the rear fits any standard UK 13 amp wall socket
American flat-pin output socket on the front accepts US, Canadian and Mexican standard plugs
Two USB-A ports at 2.4A combined — higher output than the EU version, suits faster charging for smartphones and tablets
10A 120V rated, 1560W maximum load through the mains socket output
Does not convert voltage — see the voltage note below before connecting mains appliances
Design and Build — Both Versions
Compact square white body on both adaptors — small enough to sit in a toiletry bag, jacket pocket or hand luggage pouch without taking up significant space
Two USB-A ports positioned on the upper front face of each adaptor — both ports are accessible simultaneously alongside the mains socket output
UK three-pin plug configuration on the rear of both adaptors — no cable, no trailing lead, plugs directly into the wall
White finish matches hotel room sockets and desk outlets without standing out
Lightweight build on both versions — neither adaptor adds meaningful weight to a travel bag
Important — Voltage Information
This is the detail that matters most with any travel adaptor.
Both adaptors change the physical pin shape so your UK plug fits a foreign socket. Neither adaptor converts the voltage coming out of the socket.
EU adaptor — European mains voltage is 220-240V, which is the same as the UK. Most UK appliances work fine in Europe through this adaptor without any voltage concern
US adaptor — American mains voltage is 110-120V, which is lower than the UK 240V standard. Appliances that are dual voltage (check the label for input range such as 100-240V) will work correctly. Appliances rated for 240V only — including many hairdryers, straighteners and some shavers — will not work and may be damaged or become unsafe if connected
Always check the voltage rating on the appliance or power supply label before connecting through the US adaptor.
What the USB Ports Charge
Smartphones via USB-A cable — all standard Android and iPhone models with the appropriate cable
Wireless earbuds, smart watches and fitness trackers
Portable power banks topped up while the mains socket handles a laptop or camera charger
Tablets — note that the EU version at 1A will charge tablets slowly, the US version at 2.4A combined is better suited to tablet charging
Any device using a USB-A cable connection
Where These Get Used
Package holidays to European destinations — Spain, Greece, Italy, France and the rest of the continent where UK plugs do not fit the local sockets
Business travel across Europe where a laptop, phone and tablet all need power from a hotel room socket
Trips to the United States, Canada or Mexico where the flat-pin socket format is used
Students on study abroad programmes in Europe or North America
Anyone who travels regularly and wants a reliable compact adaptor that handles USB charging at the same time as the mains connection
Practical Notes
Do not stack adaptors or plug one adaptor into another — always connect directly to a wall socket
Keep combined appliance load within the rated maximum of each adaptor
Do not use the US adaptor with high-draw single-voltage appliances such as 240V-only hairdryers or travel kettles
Store in a small pouch when not in use — the pins on both adaptors are exposed and can bend if loose in a bag with heavier items
The USB ports on both versions are USB-A format — USB-C devices require a separate USB-A to USB-C cable
