A 2-Slice Toaster That Gets the Brown Right Every Time

Good toast comes down to one thing — knowing the bread will come out at the level of brown you set, without burning on one side or staying pale on the other. This 700W 2-slice toaster delivers that reliably across six browning settings, with a dial that runs from lightly warmed through to a deep, dark crust. It has a removable crumb tray for keeping the base clean, a cancel button for stopping the cycle whenever you need to, and a compact rectangular housing that fits on most kitchen worktops without taking space away from anything else. White or black — both toast the same way.

Six Browning Settings — What Each Level Actually Does

The browning dial has six numbered positions. That range matters because different types of bread, different thicknesses, and different preferences all need different heat exposure times.

Level 1 barely colours the surface — enough to warm bread through and add a light crunch without any browning. Useful for thin white bread or anyone who prefers their toast on the very light side.

Level 2–3 gives a light to medium golden result — the most common setting for standard sliced bread and bagels where you want some colour but not a strong crust.

Level 4 is medium-dark — a good starting point for sourdough, thick-cut bread, or crumpets where you want a proper colour on the surface.

Levels 5–6 produce a properly dark result — well-done toast with a firm crust and deeper flavour from the bread. Some people specifically prefer this, particularly with wholemeal and granary loaves.

The Removable Crumb Tray

The crumb tray slides out from the bottom of the housing. Every time bread is toasted, crumbs fall into the tray rather than collecting inside the base of the appliance. When it fills up, you pull the tray out and tip it into the bin. No shaking the toaster upside down over the sink. No crumbs migrating across the worktop every time the toast pops up. The tray goes straight back in once emptied — the whole process takes about ten seconds.

Cancel Button — Stop the Cycle Anytime

The cancel button stops the toasting cycle the moment it's pressed and pops the toast up immediately. Useful when the bread starts to smell like it's going too dark before the cycle finishes, when you change your mind, or when something else pulls you away from the kitchen and you need the toaster off without unplugging it from the wall.

White or Black — Which One to Choose

Both versions are the same toaster with the same heating elements, the same six-position dial, the same removable crumb tray, and the same cancel button. The housing colour is the only thing that changes.

White blends into lighter kitchens — pale stone and cream worktops, light-coloured tiles, and any kitchen where a black appliance would look out of place. The white housing also shows fingerprints less on smooth surfaces.

Black suits modern kitchens with darker worktops, stainless steel appliances, or any setup where a white toaster would feel too clinical. The gloss black housing takes on a slightly more premium appearance on darker surfaces.

Neither toasts better than the other. Choose based on what works for your worktop.

What You Can Toast in It

  • Standard sliced bread — the everyday use. Settings 3–4 covers most households for regular white and brown bread
  • Sourdough and thick-cut loaves — the wide slots accommodate thicker slices. Start at level 3 and adjust up if needed
  • Bagels — split in half and loaded cut-side up. The slots are wide enough for standard bagel halves without forcing them
  • English muffins — split and toasted at medium-high — settings 4–5 gives a good result on the rough surface
  • Crumpets — set at level 4–5 to get proper colour into the holes without the edges going too dark
  • Frozen waffles and thin flatbreads — work on medium-high settings; thin items often toast faster than expected so start lower and check

Keeping It Clean

The crumb tray handles the bulk of the cleaning — empty it regularly and the inside of the toaster stays clean on its own. Wipe the exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth when cold. Don't submerge the toaster or run water into the slots. 220–240V / 50–60Hz — standard UK mains plug.

Available in white and black — same 700W heating elements, six-position browning dial, removable crumb tray, cancel button, and compact rectangular housing. 220–240V / 50–60Hz. UK mains plug.
