Two Cooking Rings. Two Separate Controls. 2500 Watts Total.

A single hot plate gets you one ring. This 2500W double electric hot plate gives you two — each with its own independent thermostat dial, its own neon power indicator, and its own heating element running off the same flat base unit. One ring can run a rolling boil while the other holds a low simmer. Both are set separately and neither dial affects the other. That's the difference between a portable cooking solution and a proper two-ring hob. Available in white and black — both versions identical in output and feature set.

What the Two Rings Give You

The larger ring is suited to bigger pans — stockpots, large frying pans, woks with flat bases, and anything over 20cm diameter where you need a full, even heat across the base. Turn its dial to a higher setting and it reaches cooking temperature quickly enough for boiling pasta, searing meat, or frying at a proper heat.

The smaller ring handles smaller pans and lower-heat work — a saucepan for sauce, a smaller pan for eggs, or anything where you need a sustained medium or low heat rather than peak output. Its dial gives the same variable range from minimum through to maximum, just feeding into a smaller element.

Both dials are thermostatically controlled. The thermostat holds each ring at the level you've set by cycling the element rather than running it at full output continuously. That's what makes a low simmer actually low — the element doesn't just run full power and force you to keep adjusting.

Neon Indicators — One per Ring

The two neon red indicator lights sit on the front panel between the two dials. Each light is linked to its own ring. When a dial is turned on, that ring's neon activates. When the dial is returned to off, the light goes out.

At a glance, you can see which rings are live without touching anything. This is important when stepping away from the hob briefly — both lights visible from across a small kitchen, so there's no question about which elements are still on.

Overheat Protection and Non-Slip Feet

Overheat protection is active on both rings. If internal temperatures go beyond the designed operating range during sustained use, the element cuts out automatically. It doesn't require any input — it handles itself and resets once the temperature drops back within range.

Non-slip rubber feet on the underside of the base keep the unit from shifting on a smooth worktop. With two pans on at once and more movement happening above the surface, the base staying in place matters more than it does with a single ring.

White or Black — The Only Difference Between the Two Versions

Both versions have the same cast iron plates, the same two thermostat dials in the same positions, the same neon indicators, and the same flat base profile.

White suits lighter worktops — pale stone, cream tiles, or any kitchen where a black appliance would feel visually heavy. The white base shows the two black cast iron plates as a contrast, which makes the cooking surfaces clearly visible.

Black suits darker setups — black worktops, stainless steel kitchens, and any space where a white appliance would look out of place. The all-black finish means the cast iron plates blend into the body of the unit.

Where This Gets Used

  • Student accommodation — two rings means cooking a proper meal without waiting for one pan before starting the next
  • Caravans and campervans — a full two-ring setup off a hook-up, more practical than a single ring for anything beyond simple reheating
  • Kitchen renovation — when the main hob is out of use during a refit, two rings keeps meals happening properly throughout
  • Annexes and separate living spaces — full cooking capability without installing a fixed hob
  • Extra rings at busy cooking times — when an existing four-ring hob still isn't enough space for a large family meal
  • Offices and staffrooms — two dishes prepared simultaneously for a small group rather than working around one ring

Pan Compatibility and Cleaning

Works with any flat-based cookware — standard saucepans, frying pans, small stockpots, and flat-based woks. The larger ring suits pans from 16cm to around 22cm base diameter. The smaller ring works best with pans under 18cm. Cookware with curved or convex bases won't sit stably and won't transfer heat efficiently.

To clean: turn both dials to off and allow to cool fully. Wipe the cast iron plates with a damp cloth — food residue comes off cleanly once cool. Wipe the flat base body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Standard mains plug — 230V.

Available in white and black — 2500W total, two independent cast iron heating rings, two thermostat dials with variable heat, two neon power indicators, overheat protection on both elements, non-slip rubber feet, easy-clean flat base. Standard UK mains plug.
